Privacy Policy

At Daily Diary, we prioritize your privacy. Your journal entries, photos, moods, tags and settings are stored on your device, in the app's private storage, and are never uploaded or sent to us; the app needs no account. The only data that leaves your device is what the advertising service described below needs to work.

Daily Diary shows ads served by Google AdMob, which keeps the app free. To deliver, measure and limit ads (for example frequency capping and fraud prevention), Google may collect information from your device such as its advertising ID, IP address, device type, approximate location and how you interact with ads; it never receives your entries or photos. On iOS, Daily Diary requests non-personalized ads and does not ask to track you across other apps. If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, Google's consent form asks for your choice before any ad is requested, and you can change it in Settings. We do not sell or share your entries with anyone. The only third-party service in the app is Google AdMob with Google's User Messaging Platform (ads and ad consent, see above), each under its own privacy policy. When you export or share an entry, it goes only where you send it through your device's share sheet. The photo library permission is used only to add the photos you pick to an entry.

Your diary is kept in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot access. It is not encrypted by the app and the app has no lock of its own, so protect your device with a passcode. Like other app data, your diary can be included in your own device backup (Google backup on Android, the iPhone/iPad backup on iOS), under your account.

We do not keep any of your data on our servers. You can delete entries at any time in the app; uninstalling the app removes all of its data from your device.

Our application is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13 ("Children"). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
