Privacy Policy

The thoughts you catch, your Today / Later / Let Go shelves, the task names you pair with timers, the Flows you build and their step names, your timer history and your gentle stats are stored in a database on your own device. They are never uploaded, never synced, never sent to us, and never sent to anyone else. There is no account and no server to send them to. They are also never used to influence which advertisements you see — there is no path in the app by which that could happen.

We do not collect any personal data. Nowly has no account system and nothing to sign in to. We cannot read your captures, your tasks or your Flows, and we have no way to identify you.

Nowly displays advertisements through Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier to serve ads and may collect limited diagnostic information, as described in Google's own Privacy Policy. You can reset your advertising identifier at any time in your device settings. We share no personal data with AdMob, because we hold none. Ads appear only on the Now tab while no timer is running, on the Flows list and on the Me tab. There are no ads on the running timer in any form, on the capture sheet, in your inbox, or in the Flow player — those surfaces are ad-free by design and will stay that way.

If you allow notifications, Nowly schedules them locally on your device so that the end of a timer, and the gentle warnings before it, can reach you when the app is in the background. Notification permission is requested at your first timer start, never at launch, and the app remains fully usable if you decline. Notification text never contains anything you have written — a lock-screen notification will never show the contents of a captured thought.

Nowly does not read from or write to Apple Health, Google Fit, or any other health platform. It requests no health data and collects no biometric information. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, manage or prevent any condition, and it makes no claim to. If ADHD is affecting your life, a clinician can help in ways a timer cannot.

Nowly requests notification permission (for timer ends and warnings) and vibration for haptic feedback, which you can turn off in Sensory settings. It does not request microphone, camera, photo, location, contacts, calendar or storage access.

You can export a complete backup at any time from the Me tab. The file contains your captures, your Flows and the days you showed up, and it is created only when you ask for it. It goes wherever you choose to send it — we never receive a copy.

We do not share any of your data with third parties, because we do not collect any. If you choose to share your weekly recap, only the counts you can see on that card are shared, to the destination you pick.

Although we do not collect any personal data, we take the security of anything the application processes seriously. All application data is stored locally on your device using the platform's own storage protections.

Because we collect no user data, we retain no personal information on any server. Everything lives on your device and can be removed at any time by letting go of individual items, deleting your Flows, or uninstalling the application, which removes all of it. You may want to export a backup first.

Nowly is designed for adults and is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13 ("Children"). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. The app contains nothing unsuitable for a younger person who is handed a visual timer by a parent or teacher, but it is not built or marketed for children. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can take appropriate steps.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
