Privacy Policy

Shiftly does not collect any personal data from our users. Your rotation patterns, shift types, working hours, hourly rates, pay estimates, overtime entries, day notes, trade notes, leave and any partner patterns you import are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to any server of ours. No account or sign-up is required to use the app, and we have no way to see your schedule.

Shiftly can turn your rotation into a compact code or QR image so you can send it to a colleague or partner. This only ever happens when you choose to share one, and the code travels through whatever app you pick to send it — a message, an email, a photo. It does not pass through any server of ours. A pattern someone shares with you is imported as a local copy on your device; it is not a live link, and nothing is synced between devices.

Shiftly displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. Google AdMob may collect certain non-personal, aggregated data such as device type, an advertising identifier, and general location to serve ads. This data is handled by Google in accordance with their privacy policy. We do not have access to or control over the data collected by AdMob. Your rotation, shift names, hourly rates, pay estimates and notes are never shared with any advertising or analytics provider.

If you turn on shift reminders, Shiftly schedules local notifications on your device from your own rota — wake alarms for a shift type, a heads-up before a shift starts, and an optional evening notice before your first night shift. These are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device; no schedule information is sent anywhere. You can turn them off at any time in the app or in your device settings. Shiftly delivers shift reminders through standard notifications and does not replace your device's alarm clock, so we recommend keeping your usual alarm as a backup for shifts you cannot miss.

Any earnings figure shown in Shiftly is an estimate calculated on your device from hourly rates and premium percentages that you enter yourself. It is labelled as an estimate everywhere it appears. Shiftly is not payroll software, performs no tax calculation, and does not provide financial, legal or employment advice. Always check any figure against your payslip.

Shiftly requests only what it uses: internet access and an advertising identifier for ads, notification permission for shift reminders, permission to restore your scheduled reminders after a device restart, and vibration for haptic feedback. Shiftly does not request access to your camera, photos, files, contacts, location or device calendar.

Shiftly is intended for adults in shift-based work and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, please contact us.

Because all of your data is stored locally, you remain in control of it at all times. You can edit or delete any shift type, rotation, day edit or imported partner pattern from within the app. Uninstalling Shiftly removes all of its data from your device. As we hold none of your data, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal and regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. Changes are effective when posted. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
