Privacy Policy - SpeedKit

SpeedKit does not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect your personal data on our own servers. Your test results, history and settings are stored locally on your device and never transmitted to us. To measure your connection, SpeedKit exchanges test data with Cloudflare and checks how quickly some popular services respond, as described below. SpeedKit also shows ads through Google AdMob, which collects some data directly from the app, and in-app purchases are handled by the app stores.

To measure your internet speed, the app sends HTTP requests to Cloudflare's public speed-test endpoints (speed.cloudflare.com). These requests carry no user identifiers — only the bytes needed to measure download, upload and latency. Cloudflare receives your IP address and standard request metadata, which it handles under its own privacy policy (https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/). We never see this data.

After a test, the Apps tab measures how quickly popular services respond by sending a small request (no content, no identifiers) to each of these sites: youtube.com, netflix.com, instagram.com, tiktok.com, web.whatsapp.com, zoom.us, spotify.com, x.com, epicgames.com, store.steampowered.com, playstation.com, xbox.com, riotgames.com and roblox.com. Like any website visit, each site receives your IP address and standard request metadata under its own privacy policy.

To serve, measure and personalize ads and to prevent fraud, Google AdMob and its mediation partners Unity Ads, ironSource (Unity LevelPlay) and Liftoff (Vungle) collect data from your device, including your device advertising identifier, your IP address (from which an approximate location may be derived), your interactions with the app and its ads, and diagnostic information; this data is encrypted in transit. Ads may be personalized only as your choices allow: where your region requires consent (for example the EEA, the UK and Switzerland) you are asked first, and in US states with privacy laws you can opt out of the sale or sharing of your data; you can change these choices at any time from the privacy options in the app's Settings. On iOS, after any consent form, SpeedKit asks for App Tracking Transparency permission: your advertising identifier is used only if you allow tracking, otherwise ads are not personalized, and you can change this at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. You can reset or delete your advertising identifier in your device settings. Payments for SpeedKit Pro are processed by Google Play or the App Store. On iOS, purchase status is verified through RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous app identifier and your purchase records (https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy). We do not receive your payment details.

We do not receive your personal data, so there is no information for us to use, sell or share. The data flows described above go directly from the app to the services named, under their own privacy policies. If you choose to share a result or send feedback, the app hands it to the app or recipient you pick.

Your results and settings are stored locally on your device, protected by your device's own security, and data sent to the services above is encrypted in transit where the service supports HTTPS.

We do not retain any personal information on our own servers. All application data is stored locally on your device and can be deleted at any time in the app or by uninstalling the application. Data collected by Google AdMob, Cloudflare, RevenueCat and the checked sites is retained according to their privacy policies.

Our application is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13 ("Children"). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so that we can take steps to remove such information.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal and regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. Changes are effective when posted. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
