Privacy Policy - Tunify

Tunify itself collects none of your data. There is no account, no sign-in and no profile. Your settings, calibration, custom tunings and metronome preferences are stored only on your device; we never receive, see, sell or share them. The app connects to the internet only for ads and the ad consent form (see Advertising), for the optional Tunify Pro purchase (see Purchases), and when you open a link such as this policy or the store page.

Tunify uses the device microphone to detect the pitch of your instrument so the tuner can show the closest note and how many cents sharp or flat you are. Audio is analysed on your device in real time and is never recorded, saved or sent anywhere, and it is never used for ads. You can turn microphone access off at any time in your device settings; the metronome and reference tones keep working without it, but the tuner cannot hear your instrument.

Tunify is supported by ads: a banner at the bottom of the Tunings list, the Metronome while it is stopped, and Reference Tones while no tone is playing; an occasional full-screen ad after you save a custom tuning (never in your first session or first three days with the app) or when you come back to the app after a while; and optional videos you can choose to watch, for example to unlock the premium metronome sounds. There are never ads on the Tuner screen or while the metronome is running.

Ads are served by Google AdMob, which may also fill them through its mediation partners Unity Ads, ironSource (Unity LevelPlay) and Liftoff (Vungle). To show and measure ads, these companies may access your device's advertising identifier and other device identifiers, your IP address and the approximate location derived from it, how you interact with ads, and diagnostic and device information (such as device model and operating system). Tunify never puts your microphone audio, tunings or settings into ad requests. Whether ads are personalised follows the choice you make in Google's consent form. On iPhone and iPad, after any consent form, Tunify asks for App Tracking Transparency permission: your advertising identifier is used only if you allow tracking, otherwise ads are not personalised, and you can change this at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.

Where the law requires it, Tunify asks for your consent through Google's consent form before any ad is requested: in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland you are asked first, and in some US states the form lets you opt out of the sale or sharing of your information, a choice Tunify also passes to each mediation partner. Your choice is saved on your device, and Settings › Ad privacy choices lets you review or change it at any time. You can also reset or delete your advertising identifier in your device settings.

On Google Play, Tunify offers an optional one-time purchase, Tunify Pro, which removes the ads and unlocks the premium metronome sounds without a video. The tuner, every tuning and the metronome stay free either way. Google Play processes the payment; we receive no card or payment details, and the purchase is tied to your Google Play account so it can be restored on a reinstall or a new device.

Tunify requests the microphone, used only for on-device pitch detection; internet and network-state access and the advertising identifier, used for ads and the consent form; vibration, used for the haptic tuning guide; and on Android the Google Play billing permission, used only for the optional purchase. It asks for no access to your location, camera, photos, contacts or notifications.

Tunify keeps its data in the app's private storage on your device, which other apps cannot read. Nothing you create in Tunify is uploaded to a server.

Tunify is designed for a general audience and is not directed at children. It contains no user-generated content, no chat and no social features. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

All app data lives on your device. Clearing the app's storage or deleting the app deletes everything it stored; there is no server-side copy for us to keep or erase.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be published on this page, and continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
